Survivors include: his wife Jan, Dodge City his son Tim, Dodge City his daughter, Denise Elwell, Dodge City a brother, Al Geist and wife Doris, Hoxie 2 sisters, Rosa Turner, Salina and Leona Peters, Aurora, Colorado and his grandson, Cody Elwell. On Novemhe married Janice Garnett at Wichita. He was an avid hunter and trainer of hunting dogs as well as judging field trials. He was a member of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Howard Gotschall VFW Post 1714 and the Moose Lodge all in Dodge City. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany as a Military Policeman. A Dodge City resident since 1962, moving from Wichita, he was and Electronics Technician and Installer for Western Electric later changing to AT&T, retiring after 43 years of service. He was born Maat Hoxie, the son of Joseph and Helen Vonfeldt Geist. DODGE CITY – Ernest “Ernie” Geist, 77, died Wednesday, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City. ![]()
